Privacy Policy
Effective October 22, 2026
The short version: ChatXD is a desktop app for Windows that runs entirely on your computer. It has no servers and no ChatXD accounts. Your chat, settings and login tokens stay on your PC. ChatXD only talks to the platforms you connect (Twitch, YouTube, Kick, TikTok) and a few services listed below, directly from your computer.
Who we are
ChatXD ("ChatXD", "we", "us") is made by Sevnpai. Questions about this policy: hello@chatxd.co.
What ChatXD accesses
When you connect an account in ChatXD's Settings, you sign in on that platform's own website and approve the permissions listed there. ChatXD never sees your password. With your permission, ChatXD uses:
- Your basic profile: your username, display name, channel ID and profile picture, so ChatXD can show who you're connected as.
- Live chat: messages in your stream's chat and in channels you open, so ChatXD can show them, and the ability to send messages you type.
- Moderation: timeouts, bans, message deletion and moderator or VIP changes that you choose to perform.
- Stream details: live status, viewer counts, ad schedule, clips and channel information, to show them in the app.
- Twitch only: channel point redeems and follows for your channel, and the list of channels you follow, for the Activity tab and raid suggestions.
ChatXD only acts when you ask it to (for example by sending a message or clicking Timeout). It never posts, moderates or changes anything on its own.
YouTube
ChatXD uses YouTube API Services. By connecting YouTube, you also agree to the YouTube Terms of Service, and Google's handling of your data is covered by the Google Privacy Policy.
With your permission (the youtube.force-ssl scope), ChatXD reads your active live stream and its chat, sends chat messages you type, deletes messages, times out or bans users, adds moderators, and reads your stream's viewer count. It does not access your videos, comments outside live chat, subscriptions or any other YouTube data, and it does not upload or change videos.
ChatXD's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
You can revoke ChatXD's access to your Google account at any time from your Google Account permissions page, or with Disconnect & revoke access in ChatXD's Settings.
Where your data is stored
| Data | Where it lives |
|---|---|
| Login tokens for Twitch, YouTube and Kick | Encrypted in Windows Credential Manager on your PC |
| Settings, open channel tabs, nicknames, notes, overlay design | A settings file in your Windows user folder (%APPDATA%\app.chatxd.desktop) |
| Chat messages | In memory while ChatXD is open (recent history only). Not saved after you close it |
| Troubleshooting log | %APPDATA%\app.chatxd.desktop\logs on your PC. Contains connection errors, never your tokens or chat |
None of this is sent to us. We have no servers that receive your data, and we don't sell, share or use it for advertising.
Services ChatXD connects to
To work, ChatXD connects directly from your computer to these services. Each receives your computer's IP address, as with any internet connection, and handles data under its own privacy policy:
- Twitch, YouTube (Google), Kick and TikTok for sign-in, chat and the features above. Kick chat is delivered through Pusher, the service Kick uses for its live chat.
- 7TV, BetterTTV and FrankerFaceZ to load emotes, and recent-messages.robotty.de to show recent Twitch chat when you open a channel.
- GitHub to check for and download ChatXD updates.
ChatXD doesn't include analytics, tracking or advertising. If that ever changes, we'll update this policy first and add a switch to turn it off.
Deleting your data
- Disconnect any account in Settings → Accounts. This deletes its login token from your PC and revokes ChatXD's access with the platform.
- Uninstall ChatXD and delete the
%APPDATA%\app.chatxd.desktopfolder to remove everything else.
Children
ChatXD is meant for streamers and isn't directed at children under 13. Each platform's own age requirements apply to your use of it.
Changes
If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top and describe important changes in the app's release notes.
